We had a solo adventure taking the long way up, through Wickenberg, Yarnell, Peeples' Valley, etc. Stopped at the Hot Shot Memorial in Yarnell. The 7 mile hike looks to be a pretty good one, lots of elevation and rugged terrain. It has placards along the way from family members of the 19 hot shots who died. The hike ends at the fatality site, gave us chills just to be at the trail head. Will add the hike to the list, start early, no dogs, plenty of water! We planned for brunch in Prescott but the Barley Hound is closed for refurb, too chilly to sit outside at founding fathers, there was a dog festival happening in the square, it made Stefie nervous - all the barking and squawking. And SO windy! We grabbed a couple slices of pizza and headed up Senator highway. A super cozy night at cabin, Stefie hit the bell and won the Yahtzee tourney! (sorry baby) Awesome Charcute, reading & relaxin'. Perfection. On the road early Sunday, virtually no clean up except the 3 forks, 5 knives, 6 cups, and 10 spoons we managed to dirty!!
