Brian and Stefie up for a quick 2 nights, felt like we hadn't been up in tooo long!! Left Thursday afternoon and arrived about 5pm, super easy traffic on a Thursday. I'm not sure if Brian or Charlie were more surprised by the sweet lost pooch they found on our patio upon arrival. Spruce Mountain "Ellie" had been missing for 2 weeks. She was tired, hungry, thirsty and scared! She picked the best place possible to hide out and be found. After we sent some pics to Jay and he posted on the FB we were able to get a very kind 2 crew team of volunteers from Yavapai Humane Trappers Animal Search & Rescue up here to get the sweet Ellie girl home. Quite an eventful arrival for our quick getaway. We hope Ellie is safe and happy now. Friday afternoon we took a trip to town to hit the Wine Bar and pick up our Spring Box that's been waiting for us. Brian met our girl Kinsley and we met David the Basenji, a dog named after David Rose from Schitt's Creek. He had quite the personality and we can definitely see that Charlie has some Basenji in him for sure! After the wine bar we headed to Founding Fathers to test out the taps. Had enough beers for Brian to make himself an appointment for a hair cut. The Barber Shop inside Founding Fathers is the perfect spot for him to relax with a beer and get a nice cut. Appt made for 7:30 so we went to have dinner at El Gato Azul, the place on the creek that serves up tapas plates. "You came at the right time, we have open seats" said the young host, then he gave us exactly 2 options for seating, one that was plagued with flies, the other that shared space with the kitchen. We took the high top by the kitchen and it was only OK. I really want to like this place but that might have been our last try! After dinner, back to Founding Father's for the haircut. Champagne on tap and cicada's galore. Brian's hair looked perfect so now we have a barber shop we can hit where he’s comfortable and hydrated. Trip back up the hill a little later than usual and in the dark. Charlie was happy to have us back at the cabin. Saturday morning Stef returns from hiking with Charlie to find Brian battling a rattlesnake and a bird in the cabin. It was pretty chaotic for a few but the bird got out and the snake retired peacefully. We did a good cleaning and hit the road about noon! What a wildlife weekend.
